Our function room has its own fully stocked bar at competitive prices. On draught, we have real ales and choice of lagers, ciders and bitters. We also have a large range of wines available to buy by the glass or bottle and have a full selection of sprits, soft drinks and hot drinks. Our function room can comfortably seat 250 people, making it an ideal venue for weddings, engagements, christenings, birthday parties and corporate events. We offer a catering service for any occasion and offer a buffet.

Sports

Bowls, Snooker, Pool, Darts & Live Sport

Whaley Bridge Bowling Club was formed in 1907 and is a club offering excellent bowling and social facilities to both our members and guests. We aim to provide all our members and guests with a safe and friendly environment. Members get preferential pricing on drinks (50p off per pint) and discounted drinks are available for everyone before 7pm daily (40p off all drinks for all).

Our men and women work together to foster the sport of bowls, create and run an active tournament season (March though October), and host both national and international events. We are committed to enhancing the visibility of the sport of bowls in our division as well as throughout the country.

Facilities

We offer a high quality bowling green, a 500 total indoor capacity of venue – comprising lounge, games room, function room, bar area and covered outside veranda for up to a 60 capacity and uncovered for a further 70 people. Our venue is ideal for birthdays, weddings and funerals.

Our function room takes up to a 180 capacity and we have onsite parking for up to 80 cars. We have two snooker tables, a pool table, one 90 inch inch TV, two 75 inch TV’s. We also put on bingo evenings, live bands and local football team events.

Membership

Any one that has an interest in participating in the sports, games and recreational or social activities adopted by the club is eligible for membership. The benefits and privileges of membership include the right to the use of the club’s premises and bowling green without further charge. The 2020 annual subscription is £20. The reduced subscription for Country Members, Junior Members and qualifying Senior Members is £11. Members must be admitted by election by the Management Committee. A candidate must be proposed by submitting an application form to the General Secretary.

A Bowling Club For Everyone

Whether playing, socialising or using our function room facilities, we are a club for the whole community. Beginners are always welcome and experienced club members are very happy to help beginners get started with advice on the game and on the necessary equipment. The equipment is actually nothing more than a pair of bowls (or woods) of the correct type and a pair of suitable shoes. The Club has some spare bowls that new members can borrow while they look for something of their own.
